We really loved reliving some Need for Speed action, but Most Wanted seems like the place to draw it to a close. While we did play Carbon and Pro Street, we found we didn’t have much at all positive to say.
But the future of Need for Speed might be a positive one. We haven’t tried out Undercover yet, but it looks promising, as does Shift: though if it’s not, it will of course be proclaimed to be Need for Speed: SHIT.
There is a brand new game in the series that everyone but us seems to have missed though, one that Ross rediscovered very recently, hidden under MMORPG game subscription bills. And that game is:
Need for Speed: One-Way System!
The back of the box reads:
“Get ready to rule the one-way system* in your mint twin-turbo Renault Clio!
- modify your ride until it’s fockin bangin’, then rex it all over the place
- mock other drivers’ bunk vehicles: press ‘V’ to shout 15 didn’t phrases, including “your mum”, and “err your motor is well jubby”
- go blazin’ and blitzin’ simultaneously, all whilst blindo
- 5 different race modes, including “Traffic Light Drag Race”, “Lamp-post collision” and “Fast-Food Drive-Through Cruise”
- keep an eye out for rattleys: but make sure you evade the gavvers!
Yes mate!
* Gloucester ring-road addon soon available to download”
Summer Break
Its been a long and eventful summer here at the UCHG. So we thought it wise to take a break from the norm and share another passion of ours
Steven Seagal Movies!
So kick back, relax and stay tuned. We will be back next week with more gaming madness!
Ain’t no shakin’ me! I am Most Wanted!
After a long bank holiday weekend, the Big Talk returns once again – to this time revisit what we consider to be the best in the Need for Speed series (so far at least).
Combining the police chases and supercars of the older games with the spirit of NFS Underground, Need for Speed: Most Wanted managed to be oldschool and new at the same time – and it brought something really fockin mint to the whole racing game genre.
Find out why this is our series favourite by far!
Need for Speed: Most Wanted
While, as Aldo the Apache would say, killin’ Nazis, we stumbled across these two merry Germans, apparently interrupting their special session. Whoops!
They appear to have been ramming so violently that they have destroyed the table they were using, and have spilled onto the floor.
Those pesky Germans! Any guesses as to what game this is?
I got a Need for Speed (again) whoop! whoop!
This week we got hold of some more fockin NOS and Alpine stickers, and made a return to the sequel of the chav-tastic racer that is NFS Underground.
We’d almost forgotten how much we loved this game. Suicide doors on your Escalade anyone?
